Terms of Service

The short version: be respectful, don't abuse the service, and know that imported recipe content may be subject to the original creator's rights.

Effective April 20, 2026·Last updated April 20, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading or using Sapora (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

The Service is provided by Sapora Inc., a Canadian company headquartered in Montréal, Québec ("Sapora", "we", "us", "our").

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account (16 in the EEA and UK).
  • You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.
  • Tell us as soon as you notice unauthorized access at [email protected].
  • You can close your account at any time in Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete account.

3. Subscriptions & billing

  • Sapora offers a free plan and a paid Plus plan. Pricing is listed on the Pricing page.
  • Plus is a recurring subscription billed monthly or annually via Apple, Google or Stripe.
  • Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • AI-credit top-up packs are one-time purchases; credits never expire but are non-refundable.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their store policies. For Stripe billing issues, email [email protected].
  • We may change prices with 30 days' notice. The new price applies at your next renewal.

4. Your content

Recipes you write, edits you make and notes you add are yours. You keep ownership of everything you create in Sapora.

By using the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display and process your content only to the extent needed to operate the Service for you — for example, to sync your recipes across your devices, render them in the app, and back them up.

You are responsible for ensuring your content doesn't violate laws or the rights of others.

5. Third-party content & recipes

When you import a recipe from a third-party platform (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), Sapora extracts publicly available information and formats it for your personal use. Imported recipes may be subject to:

  • The original creator's intellectual-property rights.
  • The source platform's terms of service.
  • Applicable copyright law (noting that in most jurisdictions, the list of ingredients of a recipe is not copyrightable, while creative prose, images and video are).

You may use imported recipes for personal, non-commercial cooking. Do not redistribute, republish or commercially exploit imported content without the original creator's permission. We do not take ownership of imported recipe content.

If you are a rights-holder and believe content in Sapora infringes your rights, please send a takedown request to [email protected] with the information required under the DMCA (or your local equivalent).

6. Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal, harmful, or abusive.
  • Try to reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the source code of the app.
  • Scrape, automate or resell access to Sapora without a written agreement.
  • Upload malware, phishing content or anything that violates someone else's rights.
  • Impersonate someone else, or misrepresent your identity.
  • Circumvent rate limits or abuse the AI-credit system.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

7. Termination

You may stop using Sapora and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if your payment method fails, or if we need to stop offering the Service. On termination we'll purge your personal data within 30 days, subject to any legal obligation to retain records longer.

8. Disclaimers

Sapora is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee:

  • That extracted recipes are complete, accurate, or safe to cook without verification.
  • That nutrition and macro data are clinically precise — they are estimates.
  • That flyer deals reflect final in-store prices.
  • That the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Sapora is not a medical, dietary or nutrition-advice service. Talk to a qualified professional for decisions about your diet and health, especially if you have allergies, medical conditions or are pregnant.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sapora Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or CAD 100 — whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in that case, the limitation applies only to the maximum extent permitted.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Montréal, Québec, except where mandatory consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify you in-app for material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
